We were pleased to welcome Stephen Aiken MLA last week to meet with our team and representatives from the Trussell Trust to discuss the ongoing work of Antrim Foodbank.
The meeting provided an important opportunity to highlight both the challenges facing many local families and the shared vision of a future without the need for foodbanks. While that remains the long-term goal, we spoke honestly about the financial pressures currently impacting households across Antrim, and the continued demand for emergency food support.
We are grateful to Mr Aiken for taking the time to listen and engage with the realities on the ground. Following the visit, he said:
“I want to pay tribute to the volunteers and staff who work tirelessly to provide dignity, compassion and practical support to those in need. As local representatives, we will continue to work alongside community partners to ensure help is available and that the voices of struggling families are heard.”
We deeply appreciate his recognition of our volunteers and staff, whose dedication ensures that everyone who comes through our doors is treated with respect and care. Working together with local representatives and community partners remains vital as we support those facing hardship in our community.
