Last year was a busy time for Antrim Foodbank
We moved into new warehouse premises, opened a fifth distribution centre and set up a two-year funded partnership with Community Advice offering food bank clients the opportunity to discuss benefits and income maximisation at three of our centres.
This is a significant step in providing essential help and assistance to so many people in need in our community.
38 Tonnes of food has been processed through our warehouse!
Donations come to us from various sources.
There are 3 collections to transfer to the warehouse each week from Tesco Extra, Antrim, of donations from customers shopping there.
We receive donations from churches, schools, companies, individuals and other community groups. We could not provide our food parcels with these donations. We also have many people donate money – through our website and with cash.
Social Media
Our social media presence is increasing, with posts reaching 40,000+ people in the last quarter of 2022. This continues to be an effective way of reaching out to donors and people needing help. Please like/share/follow Antrim Foodbank on:
5,600 individuals accessed emergency food from us last year
2,500 of those were children. This is a sad fact, but if Antrim Foodbank did not exist, these families and individuals would struggle even more.
Tesco Winter Collection
December was a super busy time, with our annual Tesco Winter Collection at the beginning of the month. An incredible 96 crates of food were donated, and £409.69 in cash donations.
Christmas Hampers
We distributed 160 Christmas Hampers through 22 Referral partners. These included Christmas fayre, a £30 butcher voucher, a £20 supermarket voucher, a quality fleece blanket and a hot water bottle.
Thank you!
Together, we can help build a #HungerFreeFuture
